Freee Corporation and Onshi Foundation Saiseikai Kumamoto Hospital, a social welfare corporation, have entered into a business partnership to promote digital transformation of back-office functions in the medical industry.
In the future, we will work with the administrative department of Saiseikai Kumamoto Hospital to provide feedback on the development of freee’s integrated cloud-based ERP for medical institutions, support the introduction of freee products to medical institutions, and develop back-office support services for hospitals related to management planning.
Saiseikai Kumamoto Hospital is a medical institution in Kumamoto Prefecture and the Kyushu region that is recognized as a model hospital with top-class achievements nationwide, taking on cutting-edge initiatives such as the introduction of ICT, work style reform, and regional medical cooperation. It also provides advanced acute care and serves as an important hub for medical cooperation.

Currently, the medical industry is facing issues such as a labor shortage due to a decline in the productive population and work style reforms, as well as a tough business environment due to rising prices. Furthermore, the securing of administrative staff involved in the back-office work that supports medical care is becoming a serious problem, and measures are urgently needed.
Starting in 2024, freee will launch a team specializing in the medical and welfare industry to investigate issues and needs in the medical industry, and work to provide new plans and develop features for freee products to solve these issues.
Against this background, we have entered into a business partnership with Saiseikai Kumamoto Hospital to solve back-office issues in the medical industry, such as the corporate planning department, which mainly handles accounting and human resources, and by digitizing the entire industry and streamlining operations, we aim to create an environment that increases the time employees spend with patients and their satisfaction, thereby realizing the ideal state of the medical industry.
As a future collaboration between the two companies, they plan to develop AI-equipped products for medical institutions.
