The voice recognition system “YYSystem (Waiwai System)” developed by Aisin Corporation has been introduced to Yurikamome Co., Ltd. and the system has been installed at ticket counters in some of Yurikamome’s stations. The system was installed as part of the environmental improvement work in preparation for the hosting of the “25th Summer Deaflympics Tokyo 2025”, and will contribute to smooth guidance at ticket counters in stations.
The Deaflympics is an international sporting event for people with hearing impairments, and this will be the first time the event is held in Japan. The event is also an opportunity to deepen social understanding of people with hearing impairments, and is expected to attract many people, including people with hearing impairments, elderly people with hearing impairments, and visitors from overseas.
Introducing the YYSystem to Yurikamome stations will create a barrier-free environment that everyone can freely access, enabling stress-free communication, and will also reduce the burden on station staff of tasks such as writing and translation.
