Infomart Corporation, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo, is led by President and CEO Ken Nakajima. The Company excels in using digital technology to improve business operations. It is excited to share that Utsunomiya City in Tochigi Prefecture has adopted its “BtoB Platform Invoice” service. Utsunomiya City is located in Tochigi Prefecture and is headed by Mayor Eiichi Sato.
The “BtoB Platform Invoice” will boost financial accounting efficiency. It will integrate with “IPKNOWLEDGE Financial Information,” a system from Fujitsu Japan. Utsunomiya City is already using this system.
Utsunomiya City wants to speed up the digitalization of back-office tasks. This applies to both city departments and private businesses that work with the city.
Background and Objectives
Utsunomiya City created the “Utsunomiya City DX Realization Task.” This task aims to boost digital transformation (DX) in the local community. It focuses on advancing digitalization in administration.
In 2024, the city ran a test. They used the “BtoB Platform Invoice” to check how digitizing about 5,000 paper invoices each month could help. The results showed that the system can help go paperless. It can also lower costs for businesses working with the city and boost efficiency for city workers.
Utsunomiya City is adopting the “BtoB Platform Invoice.” This move comes as electronic transactions grow, thanks to changes in the Electronic Bookkeeping Act and other regulations. The goal is to simplify processes related to invoices.
With this implementation, Utsunomiya City has set two primary objectives:
Reducing workload and enhancing efficiency: By digitizing invoice management, both Utsunomiya City and its business partners can optimize operations and improve productivity.
Advancing digital transformation and public services: Leveraging digital technology will drive regional digital transformation and enhance the quality of public services.
The electronic invoice system will work smoothly with Fujitsu Japan’s “IPKNOWLEDGE Financial Information” system. This will create a fully digital process from receiving invoices to approval and review. This integration is expected to minimize data entry errors, reduce the manual workload, and further streamline financial accounting processes within the city.
Utsunomiya City and Infomart Corporation will keep pushing for digitalization. This will boost local government efficiency and support regional digital change.
