Recept Inc. has released a “Bank VC Service” on its digital ID wallet “proovy.”
Through this service, users can record the personal information they have registered with financial institutions as a digital certificate on their smartphones. The data contained in the digital certificate can be safely presented to external businesses via Proovy.
The environment surrounding personal information is constantly changing, with improvements in data utilization technology and the fostering of awareness of privacy protection. Recently, new social issues have arisen, such as deep fakes using generative AI and the sophistication of counterfeit printing technology, and even in Japan, it is expected that image analysis-based identity verification will be phased out.

In this context, one promising use is the creation of a scheme known as a “bank ID,” which reuses personal information held by financial institutions. There are already precedents for this overseas, and we believe there is ample potential for demand to grow in Japan as well.
We have developed this service by leveraging our strengths in handling the core technologies required to realize bank ID.
