Minnano Bank Co., Ltd. will introduce the public personal authentication (JPKI) method using My Number cards for account opening from mid-July 2025. By using the JPKI method, it will be possible to open an account in as little as five minutes*² while ensuring high security.
Due to the amendment to the Enforcement Regulations of the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, which will come into effect on April 1, 2027, it has been decided that the identity verification method at financial institutions and other institutions will, in principle, be unified into the Public Personal Identification System (JPKI) method using My Number cards.
In anticipation of this amendment, Minnano Bank will be adopting two new online identity verification (eKYC) methods, “Method Ka (formerly Method Wa)” and “Method He,” utilizing the “xID SDK” provided by xID Inc. (CEO: Hikaru Kusaka), in addition to the “Method E” that has been used up until now to verify identity when opening an account.
