Hitachi, Ltd. announced that it will begin offering a new cloud service, the Hitachi EverFlex Cloud Service (the “Service”), on a rolling basis from December 19th, which aims to ensure sovereignty and promote the modernization of corporate systems.
Against the backdrop of rising geopolitical risks, there has been growing interest in balancing the autonomy—sovereignty—of systems, enabling stable control even during extraordinary times, with modernization, improving convenience and flexibly adapting to change. Through its many years of operational experience supporting social infrastructure such as finance, electricity, and transportation, Hitachi has cultivated expertise in ensuring the transparency of IT infrastructure, essential for corporate business continuity and emergency response. This service, based on this expertise, enables companies to stably operate their IT infrastructure in response to changes in the business environment and technological advances, enabling business continuity and transformation.
Specifically, the service offers a wide range of options, including private cloud and multi-tenant cloud usage based on business requirements, as well as security and other necessary measures, achieving both autonomy and convenience. Furthermore, the virtualization/container environment at the core of this service utilizes three technologies: Hyper-V, Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), and OpenShift*1, which have enhanced reliability and operability through Hitachi’s proprietary high-reliability technology and collaboration with partners. Hitachi can assist with environment construction. For KVM virtualization environments, the company plans to combine the virtualization management solution “Prossione Virtualization®” provided by NTT DATA Corporation with Hitachi’s proprietary Linux high reliability technology*2, and begin offering it from the end of March 2026.

This service will also be used as a foundation supporting the deployment of “HMAX”*3, Hitachi’s AI solutions suite that revolutionizes social infrastructure. This will enable companies to powerfully drive business transformation through the latest AI technology while maintaining sovereignty. Hitachi will continue to contribute to the sustainable growth of its customers by strengthening compliance with domestic laws and regulations, encrypting corporate data, and streamlining and enhancing operations through AI, as well as by expanding services that enable the safe use of AI on a sovereign cloud.
