Jamm Inc., which aims to realize a free payment society, is pleased to announce that it has introduced “PocketSign Verify,” an API service provided by PocketSign Inc. for reading the IC chip on My Number cards, as a means of identity verification for its A2A payment branded payment service “Digital Cash Payment! Jamm.”
This allows users to complete identity verification by simply holding their My Number card over a smartphone and entering their PIN (the alphanumeric characters registered by the government office when their My Number card was issued).
Jamm has now introduced a new method of identity verification using PocketSign Verify, which is required for users to make high-value payments.

“Digital Cash Payment! Jamm” verifies the user’s identity using eKYC via smartphone when making payments over a certain amount, but with the previous system it took several tens of minutes to complete.
In light of these challenges, the Digital Agency has introduced “PocketSign Verify,” focusing on the fact that identity verification can be completed instantly on a smartphone by utilizing the digital authentication app provided by the Agency. The specific aims of using “PocketSign Verify” are as follows:
Improved UX and UI for customers
・Users can complete identity verification when making large-value payments with “Digital Cash Payment! Jamm” simply by holding their My Number card over their smartphone and entering their PIN.
Stricter identity verification, improved compliance with laws and regulations, and improved operational efficiency
・By using the signature function of the My Number card to verify the identity of the person, identity verification will be carried out according to the Criminal Proceedings Act standard.
The IC chip in the My Number card used for official personal authentication has a high level of security, and the data stored on the IC chip (such as name, address, date of birth, and gender) is difficult to forge. As a specified business operator under the Criminal Proceedings Act, we will be one of the first to comply with the identity verification method (Wa method) required by the government.
