gC Labs Inc., a consolidated subsidiary of gumi Inc. which operates a blockchain business, has entered into a joint venture agreement based on a memorandum of understanding with TIS Inc. of the TIS INTEC Group. The joint venture established Hinode Technologies Inc. as of April 1, 2025, and has begun operations.
Hinode will utilize TIS’s advanced technical capabilities in building and operating mission-critical systems that support social infrastructure, its diverse customer base of over 15,000 companies, and gC Labs’ deep knowledge in software development, content development, market analysis, etc. in the web3 field. Both companies will contribute assets of approximately 3 billion yen to the venture, and with the mission of “building a world-class system infrastructure and paving the way for a sustainable future by promoting social implementation of new technologies” toward the realization of a decentralized society using blockchain technology, the venture plans to develop a blockchain node operation business*1 that is the foundation of web3, and a cryptocurrency accounting management system sales business.
In recent years, with the rapid growth of the cryptocurrency market, the role of node operators who approve transactions on the blockchain and maintain the network is becoming increasingly important in terms of the spread of PoS (Proof of Stake), a type of consensus algorithm, the expansion of blockchains, and the need for enhanced security. On the other hand, in order to properly carry out the duties of a blockchain node operator, it is important to have a system that can monitor and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, regularly update software, respond to immediate problems, and take security measures against risks such as hacking. In addition, since PoS chains require roles such as participation in governance voting, advanced knowledge and experience are required for operation, and blockchain foundations are increasingly selecting and appointing node operators.
TIS and gC Labs have been collaborating in the web3 field for some time, including providing “NUE3,” a one-stop consulting service that provides support for web3 businesses from launch to operation. In this context, the two companies have decided to establish a joint venture to further deepen the collaboration between the two companies, combining TIS‘s extensive knowledge in the systems field and its customer network of over 15,000 companies with gC Labs‘ know-how in node operation and cryptocurrency management, and to further develop the business centered on node operation.
In the future, Hinode plans to provide services that utilize the cryptocurrency accounting management know-how it has gained through node operation, thereby helping to resolve issues faced by major listed companies, such as complex accounting procedures for cryptocurrencies. As a company developing web3 system infrastructure, Hinode aims to achieve the top share in Japan in node operation and cryptocurrency accounting management systems.
