Future Architect has started building a new generative AI system for Gunma Bank, slotting it straight into FutureBANK, the bank’s strategic core system that’s been in place since 2014. Development kicks off in November 2025 and the whole idea is to push the platform into its next stage instead of letting it age in place.
Gunma Bank’s medium term plan Growth with Purpose set earlier in April 2025 already made it clear they want stronger digital foundations. They’re chasing better data use, sharper operations, and a smarter approach to building internal capabilities. This project fits right into that push.
Future Architect has the range for it. They cover consulting to full system buildouts and have been using AI across multiple industries for years. In regional finance alone they advise more than 30 institutions and also provide products like the fully open API based Next Generation Banking System and the strategic operations suite FutureBANK.

This new project grows out of the generative AI PoC both sides ran in 2024 around the lending business. The mission back then was simple give AI a seat at the table through the entire lending process. They wanted to capture and pass down lending know how and make the work more consistent and faster. They spent time tuning the models and confirmed that the AI actually helped in real business tasks. That groundwork is now being used to build a full system that blends Gunma Bank’s lending expertise with Future Architect’s AI engineering muscle. The result will be a FutureBANK integrated setup that uses generative AI as a natural part of the lending workflow to clean up operations and raise quality.
Here’s what the new system brings.
AI navigation for lending operations
Using RAG to tap into all the screening data sitting in bank manuals and FutureBANK, the AI can guide less experienced staff through lending work with more confidence. An AI agent handles one click research for things like financial statement analysis. This keeps execution quality steady regardless of experience and helps carry lending knowledge forward.
Digitizing analog assets and putting knowledge to work
Generative AI will scan and digitize items that previously stayed off system like financial statements. That lets the bank actually use those assets and cut down manual labor. Once digitized, information can be searched across systems in plain language using SQL agents. This pushes data democratization so anyone can access and apply what they need instead of keeping knowledge locked in pockets.
As FutureBANK evolves with AI packed directly into the business flow, the bank builds an autonomous AI cycle where data keeps improving the system and the system keeps raising the value of that data.
Future Architect is already deep in AI research and uses a dedicated AI team to support everything from idea to deployment. Between their lending know how and the digital data FutureBANK already generates, they’ll keep shaping management and IT so clients can execute their strategies and solve real world problems.
