paintory Inc., a one-stop provider of supply chain services for D2C custom apparel, is pleased to announce that Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. has adopted its corporate services. As a result, paintory has provided a comprehensive range of services, from support for the production of original apparel, to an employee-only e-commerce website, individual delivery, and customer support for employees.
Based on its mission of “contributing to the self-realization of all individuals in a world where tastes and values differ,” paintory launched “paintory.com” in November 2017 as a service targeted at individuals, allowing anyone to create and sell brand-quality custom apparel online, even starting from a single item, without inventory risk. In April 2024, the company launched a service for businesses, providing a complete D2C custom apparel supply chain, including the production of custom apparel offered on “paintory.com” and e-commerce development, as well as support for brand and product planning, fulfillment, and customer support. The business-oriented service offers tens of thousands of body types and allows for detailed customization, even down to print and embroidery designs. It also supports API integration with external e-commerce sites, allowing for seamless integration with existing e-commerce sites. By utilizing paintory’s services, businesses can avoid the cycle of mass production and mass consumption and realize sustainable, high-value-added apparel businesses that produce only what is needed, when it is needed.
As part of its internal branding and employee engagement initiatives, MUFG has organized employee events for sponsored sports leagues, where it has previously distributed cheering merchandise featuring the MUFG logo. This year, as part of its planning for the event and distribution of cheering merchandise, the company adopted a system where employees could purchase items directly through paintory’s e-commerce website, allowing it to offer multiple original apparel items without inventory risk. Other positive aspects of the service, including the convenience of employees being able to freely select and purchase items, the ability to handle all aspects of delivery to employees, and the ease of implementation without the need for initial or monthly e-commerce site management fees, were also highly praised. MUFG has long been seeking original apparel for everyday use. In response, paintory’s corporate services have enabled the company to provide high-quality original apparel for employees in-house, a first for MUFG, in addition to cheering merchandise for games, and the service is now permanently available on the e-commerce website.

For this initiative, paintory provides a comprehensive service, from support for the production of original apparel and an employee-only e-commerce site to individual delivery and customer support after ordering. MUFG’s first employee-only e-commerce site was customized to maximize the MUFG brand’s unique identity. The two companies discussed the details of the items and designs in advance, and a total of 26 items were offered, including standard items featuring the MUFG logo for everyday wear and apparel featuring the logos of sponsored sports leagues (available for a limited time). Operating without inventory risk, the site offers a wide variety of items, colors, and sizes to meet the diverse needs of employees. It also offers kids’ and baby items for employees’ families to wear. When an item is ordered, information is instantly shared, seamlessly facilitating the process from item production to individual delivery to the designated address. Furthermore, paintory handles all customer support, including inquiries about items and orders, reducing the burden on MUFG’s administrative offices.
With the aim of popularizing convenient, high-value-added D2C custom apparel, paintory will continue to strengthen and enhance the functionality of “paintory.com” and its corporate services.
