Former CMS Chief Information Officer Tony Trenkle Joins Board of Onyx Technology

Onyx Technology, LLC, a NewWave company, is pleased to announce that Tony Trenkle, former Chief Information Officer for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and former Chief Health Information Officer for IBM Global Healthcare, has joined its Advisory Board.

Trenkle is a nationally recognized health IT leader with a successful record of more than 20 years of leading high-priority initiatives in the public and private sectors. Trenkle also led CMS’ e-health initiatives, including the HITECH Electronic Health Record (EHR) incentive program, and the implementation healthcare industry-wide regulations forICD-10, e-prescribing, and X12-5010.

“I am very excited about supporting Onyx’s innovative vision for promoting patient data access and interoperability across the US health system. It builds on the work that we did at CMS with BB2.0 and other HIT programs,” said Trenkle.
