The Information-Technology Promotion Agency ( IPA ) launched the “Security Requirements Conformity Assessment and Labeling System: JC-STAR” for IoT products. Applications for “Level 1” security conformity assessment will be accepted to begin with, with conformity labels being issued from early May. JC-STAR is operated by the IPA<\/a> in accordance with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry ‘s “Policy for Establishing a Security Conformity Assessment System for IoT Products.”<\/p>

There are four types of conformity standards, with Level 1 being a standard for dealing with the minimum security threats common to all IoT products.
