WISeQey Corp., previously called WISeKey International Holding AG started trading on the Nasdaq Global Market and on the SIX Swiss Exchange on October 5. The new ticker symbol is WQEY. The listing happened after the company moved its headquarters from Switzerland to the British Virgin Islands. This move was done through a -border merger, with its own subsidiary WISeQey Corp.<\/p>

The corporate restructuring changes the legal identity and listing structure of the group while its operational headquarters and effective management remain in Switzerland. WISeKey’s underlying businesses are also continuing under the new corporate structure.<\/p>

From WISeKey to WISeQey<\/h3>

The transition was implemented through a merger in which WISeQey became the surviving company. Nasdaq’s corporate-action notice states that the previous WISeKey American Depositary Shares were terminated and converted into WISeQey ordinary shares at a ratio of one-half of a new ordinary share for each ADS.<\/p>

Existing WISeKey ADSs and Class B shares were traded until October 2. Wiseqey ordinary shares started trading on October 5. The SIX Swiss Exchange is the place where WISeKey is listed and WISeKey also has a listing, on Nasdaq. For investors this change means a listed entity and different securities but the core operations of the group stay the same.<\/p>

Focus on Cybersecurity and Connected Systems<\/h3>

WISeQey describes itself as a company operating across quantum cybersecurity, digital identity, secure semiconductors, artificial intelligence, IoT and satellite communications.<\/p>

The company says its strategy is increasingly focused on securing connected and autonomous systems. As vehicles, robots, drones, satellites and other machines become more connected and more able to make decisions by themselves, cybersecurity and trusted digital identities become more important parts of those connected and autonomous systems.<\/p>

This creates a technology intersection, between cybersecurity and the infrastructure that supports connected devices. Secure semiconductor technology, device identity and post‑quantum cryptography are becoming relevant as organizations think about how current systems can survive cryptographic threats.<\/p>

WISeQey’s positioning therefore spans several technology layers rather than focusing exclusively on conventional enterprise cybersecurity.<\/p>

WISeSat.Space Also Lists on Nasdaq<\/h3>

The corporate transition also coincides with the Nasdaq listing of WISeSat.Space Holdings Corp., a WISeQey subsidiary focused on space technology.<\/p>

WISeSat.Space completed a $10 million private investment in public equity (PIPE) on October 1. The investment was led by SEALSQ, another WISeQey subsidiary, at a purchase price of $10.79 per share.<\/p>

The funding is meant to help WISeSat.Space with its work in space cybersecurity and post-quantum communications. The company sees satellite infrastructure as part of a secure communications system for connected devices and IoT systems.<\/p>

This development gives WISeKey visibility in space-based security applications showing how cybersecurity, telecommunications, satellite networks and connected devices are becoming more connected.<\/p>

Why the New Structure Is Important<\/h3>

The shift to WISeKey happens at a time when companies in cybersecurity and connected infrastructure are dealing with a changing threat environment.<\/p>

The rise of IoT, self-driving machines and AI-powered systems has led to devices and software parts that need to check each others identity and talk to one another. At the time the possible effects of quantum computing on current ways of keeping data safe have made people more interested in post-quantum security technologies.<\/p>

WISeKeys new company setup puts these technologies under a company that is traded on the stock market while keeping the groups base in Switzerland. The companys presence on Nasdaq and SIX also lets investors see the business under its WQEY name.<\/p>
