The companies had previously integrated Asterisk’s RFID readers with Smaregi, a cloud-based POS system that operates on devices such as iPads. The latest move aims to take that collaboration further and support more efficient store operations.<\/p>

The push comes as retailers and apparel businesses face labor shortages, higher labor costs and the challenge of managing large product volumes. Smaregi’s third medium-term management plan, announced in June 2026, identifies industry-specific POS systems and stronger labor-saving and automation solutions as key priorities. The expanded partnership is intended to address these operational challenges, particularly around checkout and accounting.<\/p>
