The Japanese drone industry has attained an important achievement with the establishment of the first permanent hydrogen drone port in Hiroshima Prefecture. The creation of the hydrogen port is part of a collaboration effort between Robodex and Tokyu Land Corporation, and it is hoped that it will change the way logistics works within remote island areas as well as drive the uptake of hydrogen drones within Japan’s transportation industry. This is much more than the building of infrastructure; it marks the beginning of a new model of logistics.<\/p>
The hydrogen drone port is situated at the LOGI’Q Hiroshima logistics center by the Seto Inland Sea. It is from this very spot that hydrogen-powered drones will mainly link the Hiroshima mainland to Osakikamijima and other nearby islands. The system can accommodate flights for approximately 35 kilometer radius, allowing delivery through routes which are free of the main transport hinderances.<\/p>

The solution that the company came up with is mixing hydrogen fuel cells with energy management systems that are state-of-the-art, which permits drones to be in the air for a greatly extended time when compared to the regular battery-powered ones.<\/p>
