This is thanks to high integration and flexible control of atomic setups with optical tweezers. Even with these strengths, the number of qubits in one system is still limited. This is mainly because there isn&rsquo;t enough space to place the atoms. To make large-scale quantum computing practical, we need to connect multiple quantum computers. This will increase the total number of usable qubits.<\/p><p>In this project, the two companies want to create a photonic quantum interface. They will combine Mitsubishi Electric&rsquo;s qubit control technologies with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nano-qt.com\/\" data-no-translation=\"\">Nanofiber Quantum Technology<\/a>&rsquo;s unique technology. This technology uses ytterbium (Yb) atoms and nanofiber cavities.
