Global leader in memory solutions armor Xia Corporation (Kioxia Corporation) today announced plans to invest 20 billion yen for the expansion of its technology development Building Yokohama Science Park, And establish a new Shin-Koyasu Advanced Research Center (Shin-Koyasu Advanced Research Center). The new facility is expected to be put into operation in 2023. Kioxia’s research and development bases in Kanagawa Prefecture will be concentrated to strengthen the company’s research and technology development to improve efficiency and create a more conducive work environment through cooperation.
In Yokohama Science Park, the expanded technology development building will nearly double the space of existing facilities, enabling Kioxia to expand its product evaluation capabilities and thereby improve product quality. The expanded facility will also provide space for a large-scale workforce to strengthen future product development. The new building will adopt environmentally friendly design and high-efficiency energy-saving equipment.
The Xinzi’an Advanced Research Center will set up a clean room for extensive research, especially focusing on materials and new technology research.

By investing in these facilities, Kioxia aims to strengthen its flash memory and solid state drive (SSD) technology development capabilities to meet the growing global demand and create innovative memory technologies and products that can create new value.
