The lockdown imposed to curb the spread of deadly novel coronavirus has drastically changed the working operations of enterprises, as most of its employees have inconsistent work shifts and have witnessed a significant decline in their productivity as opposed to increasing it. Hence, Enterprises seeking initiatives to prioritize employee empowerment post the pandemic.
According to NTT Ltd. report on ‘Shaping Employee Experiences for a World Transformed,’ the pandemic has put employee wellbeing at the highest priority for an enterprise. Over four-fifths (77.6%) of UK&I-based organizations have come to the terms the remote working during the pandemic has been a challenge for most employees.
Lack of bandwidth, not having a dedicated workspace and a feeling of isolation have emerged as a concern among most enterprises. Organizations should evaluate every facet of workplace strategy that optimizes employee experience, including technology, location, and culture.
The report took a survey of 1,350 participants across 19 diverse marketplaces (125 participants in UK&I) found that 86.4% of the UK&I respondents acknowledge that employee needs will be at the center of future workplace design.

The findings also highlight that almost three-quarters (68.0%) of UK&I organizations recognize that employees would benefit from having an option to choose from that will provide them with the required flexibility to come to the workplace when it’s time to open up. At the same time, 88.0% of enterprises agree that in-person interaction is crucial for building teamwork.
As the world continues to adjust itself to the COVID-19 crisis, it is time for enterprises to look for a robust strategy to permanently support their remote workforce. They must seek ways to enhance their employee’s experience, which leads to the enterprise’s productivity and overall business goals.
Rethinking IT Policies
When tools failed to provide the skills they need to execute their jobs, they seek ways to put the enterprise’s security higher risk. Hence, enterprises should prioritize the employee experience that will discourage them from taking such actions.
The primary step that enterprises can take, is to rethink their IT policy. They need to set up an environment where they seamlessly adjust to the new working model implementation in the latest communication and productivity tools.
Building the Workplace Strategy for the New Normal
Keeping the employees’ needs at the forefront, enterprises need to review the current workspace’s design and effectively align this with their evolving needs. Having a physical space that is welcoming helps to combat stress and can play a significant role in employee productivity.
